This resource relates to Would you rather questions. Children must choose one of the questions posed and have the option of saying why they chose that answer. There are a set of worksheets with follow-up activities and Would You Rather … cards. You can use: before the main lesson as a fun activity, fill in extra time use in circle time/citizenship use as a back to school activity to create conversation use it as a way to get children talking and listening. Some of questions are funny, silly and make children thing about serious issues in a light-hearted way. Content: Teacher Notes 5 Worksheets A to E 52 Cards (laminate to use again and again) A set of Why cards Blank worksheets for children to make up their own Would You Rather … questions Interviewing each other - Select the worksheets you want to use and put children in pairs so that they can interview each other and put a tick next to the question they choose. As a follow-up optional activity, children can write a list of the response of the person they interviewed - please see preview pane. 52 cards - Just shuffle and lay face down on table, players take turns to take a card to read and chose their answer. They must choose one or the other. You don’t have to use all the cards - you can differentiate and select the cards that you want the children to use. In this All About Me resource the questions are set in hexagonal tiles for students to complete. There are 3 types of activities. Content: Teacher Notes Worksheet 1 - 6 tiles with questions and children draw a picture of themselves in the middle. (UK and US spelling). Worksheet 2(Easier) (x4) - These worksheets consist of 3 questions on each page with red borders and children answer the questions inside hexagons with blue borders. The last tile always requires children to draw a picture of: themselves, a toy, what they are good at, an animal they would like to be. Worksheet 3 - Children trace over the sentences and finish them off in their own words. Lastly, they draw a picture in each of the three hexagons. If you are teaching or have taught letters and 3D shapes, here are some extra resources for your pupils to colour in and/or cut out and stick into their workbooks or on a separate sheet of paper. Just print off :) Suggested Uses: Children colour in the shapes and the background and then they can draw things beginning with that letter. This resource relates to the church and its features and contains mini fact word cards to display and can also be used as flash cards. A lovely addition to my Visiting a Place of Worship. In addition to the word cards, there are worksheet activities. Content: Teacher’s Notes - Describes activities in detail. 2x sets of 35 word wall cards which you can laminate for durability and display on your classroom wall. They can also be used as flash cards to increase students’ vocabulary. 2x Write the room activity worksheets and corresponding number tiles. The church objects on the worksheets are numbered 1 to 8. Preparation: You will need 8 of the word wall cards to place around the classroom. Ensure the numbers on the cards match the numbered pictures on the worksheets. Write the Room Worksheet 1 Font 2. Cross 3. Bible 4. Chalice Write the Room Worksheet 2 5. Pews 6. Church 7. Ciborium 8. Pulpit There are number tiles 1 to 8 which you can laminate. 2x Match and Stick Activity Sheets – There are 8 pictures and words to match up and stick on the worksheets provided. There are extra word tiles for bread – unleavened bread, wafer and host. Use blu tack/double-side tape and place the numbers on the word card. Students move around the classroom with their worksheet and match the number on their worksheet to the number on the word wall card. So, next to number 5, the student will write ‘Pews’ on their worksheet. Tick and sort worksheet activity with extension for more able students. There are 8 pictures of which 4 of the pictures relate to Christianity. Students tick and colour the pictures that relate to Christianity. These are worksheets and information cards relate to Advent and Christmas. Content: • Gap filling activity (2 pages) with Answer Sheets • Differentiated cut and paste activity • Information cards to go with cut and paste activity • Colouring sheet for students to colour in the candles with the correct colours Gap filling activity (2 pages) with Answer Sheets Students read the very short texts - 2 on each worksheet and use the words from the word box to complete the sentences. Differentiated cut and paste activity with Answer Sheet Students cut out the description for each candle and glue next to the correct candle. This resource is about Advent and is presented in PowerPoint together with a lesson plan and supporting worksheet tasks. For the younger children, you can just play the PowerPoint so that they know something about Advent. Content: 30 Slide Presentation which includes whole class activities - it describes what people do in the lead up to Christmas, the meaning of Advent and children are asked what they do in preparation for an event, e.g. if it their birthday, what do they do to prepare for the big day. Children are encouraged to interact with the presentation. There is a review at the end. Flexible lesson plan with introduction to set the scene, main lesson and recap session. The slides are referred to in the lesson plan. 4 Worksheets Word Search with solution plus associated tasks Worksheets 1 and 2: Children list an activity in each of the baubles. Children who need support can draw pictures to go with their list. The more able children describe their list in more detail using complete sentences and then draw a picture. Worksheet 3: For able writers – You may wish to give this work to more able writers to write about what people do during Advent and/or write how they prepare for Christmas. Early Finishers: Worksheet 4 with Answer Key: For this activity children only tick the pictures that relate to Advent. The second part of the worksheet is for children to complete each of the four sentences in their own words but using the verbs in the box. Word Search: Children can work in twos to find the words in the grid. This product relates to the Legend of St. David and myths. Content: 18 Slide PowerPoint Presentation Lesson Plan 3 Sets of Worksheets The presentation describes myths and legends and that sometimes myths and legends overlaps. Children learn about some of the mythical stories that are passed down from one generation to the next, e.g. why the leek and the dragon are symbols of Wales and the miracles St David carried out, e.g. making the blind see, why David is standing on a hill with a dove on his shoulder, the legend of the boy who tried to steal pigeons, the legend of the corpse candle. Listening and speaking during the presentation. The flexible lesson plan guides you through the presentation or you can just play the presentation which children interact with. Differentiated gap-filling worksheets: Worksheet 1 - Children use the words in the box to fill in the gaps. Worksheets A and B: - Children work in twos and collaborate to complete their worksheet as each child has information the other children needs. There is a teacher’s copy for the worksheets A and B. Early finishers - During the presentation the children are given the opportunity to retell one or two of the legends they like best which they oral retell to the class.
